The Regional Director for the Asia and Pacific at the International IDEA (Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance), Ms Leena Rikkilä Tamang had a meeting with the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Bhutan Civil Society Network, Dr Rinzin Rinzin this afternoon at the BCSN Secretariat office.
The Regional Director was accompanied by the Program Managers, Mr Pema Tenzin and Ms Karma Dema of International IDEA Bhutan office.
They discussed about the state of civil society in Bhutan and how Bhutan Civil Society Network has worked towards building of the CSO fraternity in Bhutan. They also talked about the launch of the Parliament-CSO collaboration guidelines and how this guideline will benefit the understanding and collaboration between the two institutions.
Further, the chair briefed Ms Leena on support received by BCSN from Project Nyamdrel, thanked EU/International IDEA/ Helvetas Bhutan for the support and submitted the network’s request to EU to continue supporting CSOs and the Parliament.
